VOLUNTEER AT THE MARKET

If you are interested in joining our Volunteer team, please read the following details carefully before you fill out the form below.
The Farmers' Market runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday rain or shine - volunteers must dress for the weather as the market is outdoors. Volunteers support the UFM in many capacities but mainly focus on the front entrance/welcome booth. Volunteers may also be asked to support a variety of interactive programming for kids to enjoy while their families shop at the market. These include but are not limited to sensory play tables, colouring sheets, scavenger hunts, and simple arts and crafts.
General roles and responsibilities include:
Welcoming guests to the market
Tracking # of entrants (when possible / if multiple Volunteers are present)
Sharing information about the market, our vendors and ongoing programming
Handing out raffle tickets
Informing guests of any special events/demos taking place
Assisting with basic setup/cleanup (including tents, tables, display materials, etc.)
Sharing information about kids’ activities and encouraging kids to participate, offering simple instruction and low-level support as needed
Volunteers report top the Market Manager (Gabi) who is onsite for support, as well as our Market Assistant (Matt).
